William Makofske, representatives of Energize New York, and local contractors will present “Heating Without Fossil Fuels: Heat Pumps.” ScheduleSustainable Warwick is sponsoring several programs in conjunction with EcoChallenge within the next few weeks: Select one or more and then view information and the many actions under each category. The solutions are grouped into categories such as “Girls and Women,” “Food,” “Transport" and “Electricity Generation.” Sign up at and check over the website for instructions and information. Sustainable Warwick has a team and invites anyone (even those not in Warwick) to join. These methods were researched, evaluated, and ranked by effectiveness by scientists and economists who contributed to the book "Drawdown," edited by Paul Hawken (available at Albert Wisner Public Library).Ī competitionEcoChallenge, based on solutions in that book, is a competition between teams to earn the most points for actions accomplished. The term “drawdown” refers to proven methods of drawing down the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
